Local artist David Butler is the founder of Appalachian Art rustic birdhouses. These functional homes appeal to a variety of birds, including bluebirds, nuthatches, finches, and wrens. Each creation is handcrafted in an Appalachian mountain workshop, using materials native to the area.
The moss will stay green longer if placed in a shady area. Birdhouses can be hung in a tree, attached to a post, or just enjoyed as a decorative item. Look for wood screws to remove or open the cleanout piece and remove old nest materials.
